Team India is all set to face Sri Lanka in the 3 matches one-day international matches from Friday 2^nd August 2024 the Indian cricket team will play the next of their two ODI matches on August 4 and the last one-day international on August 7.

Previously in July team India had whitewashed Sri Lanka by securing their victory in a total of all three t20 international matches under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav who is the new t20 captain for the Indian Cricket team and also it was Gautam Gambhir’s first assignment as the coach of team India where we also witnessed some unexpected wickets of Sir Lankan batters through Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh, and captain Suryakumar Yadav who were unexpectedly good with the ball and secured few wickets in the depth overs and also Suryakumar Yadav was awarded as man of the series as well.

Team India’s squad:

Since Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli said goodbye to international t20 cricket right after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 back in June they were not a part of the t20 squad and also there were rumors that they will be rested for the One-day international series and KL Rahul will take on the lead but that was not the case both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are included in India’s squad but Jasprit Bumrah is rested for the entire series so here is how the One-day international squad looks like for team India.

The One-day international matches will play an important role ahead for India considering the champions trophy in 2025 it was important to include Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as they have not played any one-day international matches since November 2023 the finals of the ICC Cricket ODI World Cup which was held at Ahmedabad since from there this will be their first one-day international match in the year 2024.

Gautam Gambhir’s message to Team India after the t20 victory

Gautam Gambhir’s first on-camera dressing room speech he clearly stated in his speech after the 3-0 win over Sri Lanka that such results take place when you fight till the end and do not give up, he praised Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy and stated that “you delivered what I have asked for before the start of the game.

”Gautam Gambhir then said, “Some of the players will not be a part of the 50 over long format and also for the test matches so take enough rest you’ll deserve that but do make sure that you all focus on fitness and skills as while when you come back in October for the Bangladesh Series you don’t want to come to series thinking that I can turn up and probably deliver for the team so make sure fitness is taken care of”.

Venue

All three one-day international matches between India and Sri Lanka will be played at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium which is located in Colombo and the match will commence at 2:30 pm Indian Standard Time. The matches will be streamed live on the Sony sports network including on the Sony LIV app and website.
